GMS Aviation Industrial Tours commonly referred to as “Industrial Visits” (IV), offer students and professional’s hands-on experience in the intricate operational, technical, and logistical settings of an active airport. These tours connect theoretical knowledge from the classroom with practical aviation applications, encompassing aspects from terminal passenger flow to critical airside management.

Core Tour Components

A standard comprehensive industrial visit is categorized into landside and airside operations:

• Terminal & Landside Operations: This segment emphasizes passenger management, which includes check-in processes, security checks, baggage screening, and customs procedures.

• Airside & Runway Operations: This part involves observing aircraft take-offs, landings, and ground activities on the apron. Participants frequently witness refueling, loading/unloading, and the operation of ground handling equipment such as tugs and cargo loaders.

• Air Traffic Control (ATC): A key feature of many tours, where attendees explore the ATC tower (or a replica) to observe live flight coordination, radar tracking, and communication protocols.

• Technical & Utility Facilities: Some specialized tours may include visits to maintenance hangars (MRO) for aircraft inspections or utility buildings to examine large-scale power systems, including two-storey high DG sets and solar PV installations.
